I have a 3ware 9650SE SATA RAID card on my esxi box. In my previous esxi 3.5 installation I setup several arrays, one of which being 4x1TB drives in a RAID 5. I enabled the autocarving feature in the 3ware configuration which split this array into a 2TB LUN, with the remainder going to a separate LUN.
