Perform Silent Installation for Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver USB 3.0 Devices Are Not Working at USB 3.0 Speed on Intel® 7 Series Chipset Platforms with Windows 8* Installed How to Check Which Controller the USB Device is Connected to. Windows* 8, Windows* 8.1, and Windows® 10 have a native in-box USB 3.0 driver. Intel is not releasing a specific Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver for Windows 8, 8.1, or 10. If you are upgrading from Windows* 7 to Windows 8, 8.1, or 10, uninstall the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver before installing the upgrade. If I download the USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller Driver that you linked and replace the two.inf files – then in Device Manager, If I select any of the USB Controllers, choose properties, driver, update drivers, browse my computer for driver software, let me pick from a list of device drivers, Have Disk, browse, select the •iusb3xhc.inf.

Changing your USB controller driver: Launch Device Manager (run devmgmt.msc). Expand the category for Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right click to uninstall the driver for each item that includes the text 'eXtensible Host Controller' and does not have 'Microsoft' in the name.
Thanks iMaxx, appreciate the heads up.
Houston: as long as whatever they put in mine makes it into 1.11, I think it'll fix your usb woes.

Thanks - Looking forward to the new BIOS!

Thanks IMaxx for the heads up.
Please tell us with the new BIOS 1.09 there is not a sensitivity to driver/firmware installation order as suggested in the advisory posted earlier in this thread. These are, after all, supposed to be business class devices and subject to the use of deployment tools such as HP SSM which don't necessarily give granular control over installation order. Manually installing drivers and firmware for hundreds or even tens of workstations is not practical.
Thanks,
Stan

Just a couple of comments
* BIOS updates can be done before or after any other updates
* the Thunderbolt firmware update is NOT for the dock, but updates the Intel chipset code managing Thunderbolt technology. The TB dock firmware itself has not changed since it started shipping and i know of no upcoming updates for it either

You know. I thought that originally and still kind of do, but the HP tech support people have consistently been telling me and confirming when I ask that the firmware actually resides in the dock, and this update will not complete if the dock is not connected.
One way to tell I suppose..

So far, after removing the Citrix Web Receiver software from my computer, I'm two days into successfully using the dock without issues (including having all my USB ports work correctly, all my screens working, and network connections). I'm on BIOS 1.08, NVidia 354.90, no Intel graphics drivers (I run with hybrid graphics disabled), and also just updated to a new Thunderbolt Connect Utility (15.3.40.275) that I noticed in SDM today. My updates have been applied in wholly random order over the past month and a half trying to get this **bleep** thing working.
I know that Citrix isn't the culprit on many computers, but so far for me, it appears that it has been the issue. I'll be testing it on a different dock at home this weekend as well.

This app was my gremlin (earlier posts) and with this latest version it works and did not trash by Dock.
pesterchum 7.0 mac downloadi have been running 100%, no failures for over 2 weeks now.

One thing I did find that helps with the screen flashing off/on every few seconds is I go into the NVIDIA control panel, under Display / Change Resolution, I select my monitor that is flickering and change the refresh rate from 60Hz to 59Hz. It makes the change, asks if I want to keep it. I say NO and then the flickering stops. Sometimes it transfers to the 2nd monitor and I do the same thing. Then things seem to be stable from that point forward until Screen Saver kicks in.
I can't seem to keep things consistent with the power settings. I have everything set to Never. Sometimes things stay on overnight and sometimes they don't, particularly the video to the monitors.
This dock is kind of useless at this point except as a monitor splitter and it does seem to keep the laptop charged.

Today's the day!
The BIOS's have been tested and set for release! (That's good!)
But they will not be available in a Softpaq form until next week. (That's bad.)
But I have a copy of them and have put them on an FTP site for all of my friends! (That's good!)
But the yougert is also cursed. (Can I go now?)
Below is an updated list of key drivers, et al. (Items in Greenare new.)
You must have all of these updated drivers as well as this new BIOS to making things as 'sunshiny and rainbows' as possible. (Remebmer to always use the Softpaq Download Manager to ensure everything is up to date.)
I do not believe the drivers are not required to be installed in a spesific order. I've always used Softpaq Download Manager and it installs what ever it is told.
The main thing is to make sure that the drivers are up to date.
Component Name | Category on Product Support Page on hp.com | Softpaq # | Version |
BIOS - Zbook 15/17 | (BIOS) | 1.09 | |
BIOS - Zbook Studio | (BIOS) | 1.12 | |

Intel® Thunderbolt™ Firmware Update Utility | (Firmware) | SP74935 | 16.1.7.0.6 - It will still show up as .3 in the TB software. This is being fixed. |
Intel Graphics Driver | (Driver - Graphics) | SP75984 | 20.19.15.4444 |
NVIDIA Graphics Driver | (Driver - Graphics - Nvidia) | SP76218 | 354.9 |
ASMedia eXtensible Host Controller Driver | (Driver - Chipset) | SP76277 | 1.16.35.1 |
Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Controller Driver | (Driver - Network) | sp76028 | 17.2.0.2 |
Conexant Audio USB Driver (called HP Dock Audio in Device Manager) | (Driver - Audio) | SP74146 | 1.31.36.13 |
Conexant USB Audio Driver for Docks | (Driver - Audio) | sp74876 | 1.31.36.14 |
IMPORTANT!
Now, before I post the link, there is something that need to be done with this BIOS once it's installed.
There is a new setting in BIOS Boot Options: USB Ports Enabled Preboot. This must be uncheckedto correct Enumeration Issue and this only affects the ports on the dock. In other words, the USB ports are disabled in a Pro OS environment*. Any keyboards or mice will not function at that time. However! They will work when the OS loads.. even at the login screen. They will not work in BIOS though.
*This only effects the dock ports, not the USB ports on the unit itself.
The new offical BIOS's arehere. (ftp://bootlegs : PE2ri_YT@ftp.usa.hp.com - remove the spaces between the ':' in that link. I did this so it didn't tirn into this :P.)
-----------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure everyone knows how to do this, but just in case:
To install these, get a USB key and makde the following folder structure:
Take the .bin file you need for your system and copy it to the 'NEW' folder.
The system will then look on the key for the bin file. If the wrong one has been placed on the key, it will report that there is no file to update with so there are no worries about applying a BIOS that was not meant for your system.
Once it's the unit has done it's reboot and beepy beepy dance, ensure that the USB Ports Enabled Preboot is uncheckedas per the instrucitons above.
If you have any issues, please PM me.

Edited to remove BIOS 1.11 and replace it with BIOS 1.12
